UN Halts Development Projects in Northwest Pakistan

The United Nations has announced it will

in the northwest tribal areas and provinces of Pakistan, the Associated Press reports. The U.N. said the suspension was put into effect following threats to the country's security status. The U.N. also said it will focus on humanitarian relief, security operations and emergency situations in lieu of the stopped programs.
