UN Official Urges International Community to Maintain Aid to Haiti

The international community should show solidarity and continue providing aid to Haiti, the United Nations special representative in the country told participants of a preparatory conference for Haiti’s reconstruction, Xinhua reports.

“The Haitian people need to keep seeing a continuous dividend coming from international solidarity and also their presence in the country,” Edmond Mulet said.

Mulet assured that the U.N. will continue supporting the drive to address Haiti’s humanitarian needs even as the international community prepares to support long-term reconstruction projects.
