Alexandra Robinson is a tech, data, & social impact strategist committed to advancing equitable, ethical ventures, policies, and products. She brings real-world experience leading programs, managing tech investments, and conducting research in and for complex geopolitical environments, such as Ebola-affected West Africa, the Thai seafood industry, and the Nepal-Gulf labor corridor. In addition to 10-years working in the public sector, Robinson more recently led data privacy and policy and managed engineering teams at an early-stage social impact tech startup. Robinson leverages her data ethics and privacy expertise to advise clients on the responsible and fit-for-purpose use of AI/ML and other emerging technologies. She has developed and implemented data policies, governance protocols, privacy impact assessments, and compliance strategies for various sectors and contexts, ranging from health and public services to human rights and social justice. Robinson is a trusted advisor to corporate executives, private foundations, government agencies, and nonprofits, including Mercy Corps, data.org, Humanity United, GitHub, and USAID. She holds a Master’s degree in Global Crime, Justice, and Security from the University of Edinburgh. She is the co-author of The State of MERLTech and Big Data and featured expert for All Tech is Human.
