A humanitarian at heart, and conflict and stabilization expert by trade, with 11 years of experience, including leadership on some of the largest and most complex USAID- and OTI-funded projects in the world. Travel in 70 countries, including field assignments for projects in Afghanistan, Haiti, Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, and Syria. Management oversight of 420 staff (at one time) with experience designing and implementing project-wide technical strategies, writing annual work plans, leading meetings and negotiations with U.S. and foreign government officials, and managing 100s of grants with local NGOs in the Middle East and Africa. Countering violent extremism (CVE) experience with extensive knowledge of operations of al-Qaeda, al-Shabaab, Boko Haram, and the Islamic State (ISIS).
