Juliet Tunje

Ms. Tunje is a sociologist with a Masters degree in Project Planning and Management. She has over 15 years of hands – on experience in the development sector in managing, coordinating and implementing Social development programs for NGOs and programmes in Kenya, South Sudan and Liberia. Ms. Tunje is experienced in implementing rural development work with a focus on women and youth economic empowerment interventions while mainstreaming Human Rights principles, Gender and Social Inclusion strategies in various development initiatives for poverty reduction including. Ms. Tunje has worked in various thematic areas including livelihoods promotion, agricultural value chain, food security and agricultural market systems, health, water and sanitation and capacity building projects. She has experience implementing cross cutting themes including rural financing strategies through VSLA implementation in agricultural market systems and supported financial linkages for smallholder farmers. She has aslo supported the implementation of agrinutrition activities for improved household nutrition and incomes. Ms. Tunje has provided team leadership, provides support in program improvement and quality initiatives, community engagement and mobilization, developed and built relationships/partnerships with government agencies and Private sector partners for several projects, policy discussions for gender mainstreaming and develops thematic area strategies to guide implementation. She is capable of conducting community identification and assessments for program start up, developing GESI training plans and training manuals and facilitate training for staff and communities, developing proposals and reports, operational planning and budgeting. She is knowledgeable and experienced in monitoring and evaluation of GESI projects and contribute to development of results framework and implementing programs using participatory methods.
