Mr. Juned Khan is a globally recognized senior leader, strategic advisor, and technical expert with over 18 years of distinguished international experience spanning climate change, carbon markets, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, ESG, sustainability, clean and renewable energy, investment, finance, institutional development, technology, and digital transformation. A Gold Medallist in M.Tech. (Energy Management) and a First-Class Distinction holder in B.E. (Electrical & Electronics), he has successfully led and supported transformative initiatives across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe. Mr. Khan specializes in the full premium quality carbon credit lifecycle—including origination, design, development, validation, registration, verification, issuance, monitoring, structuring, investment mobilization, stakeholder engagement, trading, and market integration—across diverse asset classes such as AFOLU, Nature-based Solutions (NbS), CCUS, biochar, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and community- and tech-based projects. With deep expertise in both compliance and voluntary markets, particularly under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, he has consistently delivered high-integrity carbon assets while also leading ESG integration, sustainable investment strategies, fund design, policy & regulatory advisory, institutional strengthening, risk and vulnerability assessments, and tech-enabled innovation-driven climate solutions. His technical leadership encompasses premium-quality carbon credit origination, integrated carbon asset management, carbon finance, pricing, trading, and structuring, as well as extensive work on compliance and voluntary carbon market mechanisms, particularly under Articles 6.2, 6.4, and 13 of the Paris Agreement. He has designed and managed large-scale carbon, climate, energy, and ESG portfolios, including the design, development, and delivery of multi-million-ton premium carbon credits assets and programs across various sectors and geographies. Juned has led the development and assessment of MRV systems, methodologies, digital registries, protocols, standards, and technology platforms leveraging AI, blockchain, and tokenization. He led and implemented ESG policies and sustainability frameworks and reporting such as GRI, IR, SASB, TCFD, TNFD, GHG, CDP, UN-SDGs, ISSB, ESMF, ESIA, ESMP, etc., managed climate, carbon, and ESG-integrated investment funds, conducted technical and commercial due diligence, and advised on blended finance and fund structuring across both public and private capital landscapes.
