Karen Glenski is a seasoned international development expert with over twenty-five years of experience managing multilateral, federal, state, and foundation grants and contracts, including USAID, DfID, UNDP, OSCE, and World Bank. She served for nearly five years as advisor to USAID/Iraq on Performance Management of its $1.25 billion portfolio of programs. During seven years as Deputy Director of a university-based international development center, she oversaw a portfolio of donor-funded programs in the fields of Democracy & Governance, Economic Development, and Environmental Sustainability in 25 countries. In this role, she supervised over 400 field and home office staff and negotiated terms of partnerships and subcontracting relationships. She served in long-term leadership positions on the world’s two largest parliamentary support programs in Iraq and Afghanistan. Field work experience in: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Haiti, India, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Kosovo, Morocco, Russia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Tunisia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. Holds an MA in Russian from the State University of New York in Albany including participation in exclusive exchange program at the Moscow State Institute of Foreign Languages in the former Soviet Union.
