Maria Nnambalirwa

Dr Nnambalirwa is a public health professional, with over 14 years’ experience implementing impactful HIV and TB care programs, through clinical care and translating policy into action, serving thousands of patients. Demonstrated success in health service delivery and providing technical assistance (TA) for program implementation. As a member of various national TB/HIV/COVID-19 technical working groups in Eswatini, she provided TA in the development of strategies, plans, guidelines, curricula and tools, through stakeholder engagement, capacity building, data analysis and review of evidence and lessons learnt. She led PrEP scale-up to 55 health facilities, decentralized TB/HIV treatment and integrated TB/HIV/NCD/SRH services in Eswatini. She brings experience from Sub-Saharan Africa’s NGO and public health sectors (AHF, MSF, PEPFAR/USAID and Global Fund). At EGPAF, she coordinated the international TB Community of Practice. Her other skills include advocacy, problem solving, quality improvement (QI) and assurance (QA), monitoring and reporting for prevention, diagnosis and treatment. She is committed to increasing access to sustainable, equitable, people-centred health solutions. She holds an MBChB, MSc Epidemiology, Diploma in HIV Management and a Project Management Certificate and is pursuing an MBA (Healthcare Management), offering global health consultancy services and open to remote, hybrid and on-site global health roles.
