Michiel Ter Ellen is a technical advisor with over 25 years of international field experience, leading, designing, implementing and monitoring technical cooperation projects for employment creation, workforce development and market-based solutions for enterprise development. Mr. ter Ellen has led projects funded by the EU, DFiD, USAID, DFAT, Italy and JICA and has long-term field experience in Mozambique, Yemen, Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Cambodia, and Kenya implementing projects intended to address the drivers of conflict and instability through employment creation. He has extensive experience delivering programs for technical and vocational skills development, labor-intensive infrastructure programs, linking labor market research and policy formulation to private sector needs and local economic development. A key driver for success has been designing practical solutions in challenging environments to meet client needs and working on governance at all levels in a mentoring function.
