Mr. N. Charles WILSON holds a Master degree in Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in Finance and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA) with a focus in Accounting. He also has vast knowledge and experience in Micro Soft package (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook and QuickBooks. Mr. Wilson has over twelve (12) years of experience in various positions in handling financial managerial responsibilities with several institutions and is familiar with their rules and regulations (Global Fund, USAID, European Development Fund, Irish Fund, Pool Fund, ECHO, UNFPA, UNHCR and UNICEF). His most recent four (4) years’ experience as Director of Finance & Administration/Head of Finance & Admin with President’s Young Professionals Program, Mr. Wilson provides financial management of the program, including budgeting, bank account management, management of field accounts, preparation of financial reporting, advance requests and expenditure reports, bookkeeping and management of relations with foundation funders (contracts, reporting, and fundraising). He manages all HR issues in relation to local and international staff. In 12-month as Sub-grants Compliance Manager with International Rescue Committee, Charles provided compliance monitoring under IRC/USAID grant for two NGOs providing community health services in (Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Bong, and Nimba counties), where he monitored the capacity building of general Community Health Volunteers (gCHVs) especially for training sessions; linked the gCHV with the community health structures; and monitored the monthly incentive payment of 1500 gCHVs and 150 CHSSs. For two years as Senior Grant Manager/Head of Finance with PLAN International, he provided financial management of US$12Million grant under the Global Fund for Malaria prevention and cure in 15-counties of Liberia. He also managed the sub-awards to 3-INGOs in the amount of US$8Million as well as the grant reporting, supervising incentive payments and compliance monitoring. As Finance Manager for MERLIN for seven years, he provided financial management of US$8Million annual grant for supporting the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) in the South-east of Liberia. He provided financial support for the construction of Health centers, maternal waiting homes, Nurses’ quarters, and for the construction of the only Midwifery school in Grand Gedeh County under the McCall MacBein Foundation. He managed the sub awards to 3-INGOs in the amount of US$3.5Million as well as the grant reporting. He provided financial management capacity building training for finance and non-finance staff and organizational capacity building for the 3NGOs. This also involved monthly supervision for incentive payment to 930 hospital staff. With a great wealth of knowledge and experience in financial management, he will be responsible for the management and execution of the project budget; support compliance to financial best practice and oversee operational expenses of the Project; prepare financial transactions reports on a quarterly basis and supervise incentive payment of Community Health Volunteers and other project staffs as directed by the Project.
