Summary

Successfully mobilised domestic resources for health in three Nigeria states; led work with other key stakeholders to revise and update Nigeria Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Health Insurance Scheme and Primary Health Care Development Board Bills for passage at the National Assembly. Both bills have passed through first reading. Also supported the development of FCT Health Insurance Operational Guideline. Currently working in three Nigeria States and the FCT to strength and re-position the states' Health Insurance Scheme and Primary Health care Development Boards in readiness to assess the Basic Health Care Provision Fund and also improve access to health in a bid to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Successfully sustained and increased the HP+ Nigeria scope and budget, maintaining very good relationship with the donor, my organisation and my team. I have substantial experienced in governance, health systems including health financing and advocacy, FP and MNCH. I have experience in the design, implementation, analysis and report writing of both qualitative and quantitative research and M&E and have led small and large surveys and operational researches. I pay attention to details; resilient, creative and innovative with a good network. I have managed or implemented USAID, DFiD, Global Fund, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and other multilateral and Bilateral funded projects, which has exposed me to the requirements of implementing donor funded projects. I am the lead author of seven articles published in International Journals, and also the lead author of over 20 abstracts presented in International Conferences. I hold a master’s degree in health economics and Pharmacoeconomics obtained at the Universität Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain and 1st degree in Economics (2:1) obtained at the Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria. I currently work with the Palladium Group as the Country Director of Health Policy Plus Nigeria. HP+ is a global Palladium project with focus on improving access to equitable health care services. The project addresses four key areas: Health Policy, Health Financing, Stewardship and Accountability and Advocacy. Between 2009 and 2016, I worked as the Chief of Party of Family Health Plus (FH+) project, a USAID funded, Public Sector Health System Strengthening Project implemented by a Consortium led by Marie Stopes International Organisation Nigeria. I also previously worked as Head, Research and Evaluation Division of the Society for Family Health (SFH), Nigeria. I am the lead author of seven research articles published in International Journals and also the lead author of over 20 research and programmatic abstracts presented in International Conferences.
