A recognized thought leader in her field, Dr. Magnuson is a conflict mitigation and stabilization expert with nearly two decades of experience in advising governments, shaping strategies and informing policies, and implementing and evaluating projects in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and embedded senior advisor to U.S. and foreign governments, militaries, and civil society organizations, Dr. Magnuson helps partners analyze and respond to complex human security challenges to include hybrid warfare and political transitions, conduct large-scale institutional reforms, and design and implement demobilization, disarmament, and reintegration (DDR) and countering violent extremism (CVE) programs. Notable regional experience includes: Africa (Central African Republic, Kenya, Niger, Nigeria, South Sudan, and Uganda); the Baltic region (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania); and Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan).
