Summary

Valentine (Val) Gandhi has over 19 years of experience in the management and leadership of evaluations and large-scale international surveys. Val is a noted expert in the field of monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL), leading trainings on research and evaluation best practices throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. Val brings interdisciplinary expertise in quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation methods and robust experience managing diverse cross-cultural teams, having worked in in nearly 40 countries. He has managed and implemented evaluations and research in multiple countries. He is currently supporting the World Bank on a mixed methods evaluation of the World Bank’s Global practices in Digital technology, Health, Water, Economic Growth and Poverty as well as Water sectors. He has served as a Team Leader or Member on numerous evaluations of Governance, Media engagement, Health, Food security, nutrition, Poverty, ICT4D and agriculture programs. He has been 3 times Chief of Party for USAID proejcts and has conducted several CLA and MEL trainings and set up M&E teams for various stakeholders in the government, private foundations, and USAID contractors. He hosts the EvalEdge Podcast for European Evaluation Society that focuses on Innovations in Evaluation, particularly use of Media, ICT and Mobile data for evaluation methods.
