With over 20 years of experience, my global health career includes technical, strategy, new business, and leadership roles. My early career included family planning, reproductive, and maternal health research, data analysis, and evidence-based medicine. Whether analyzing datasets or policy data, implementing programs to improve the quality of clinical care, or leading systematic literature and evidence reviews, I used the latest evidence to drive effective program interventions. Mid-career, I opened the aperture and began engaging in big-picture thinking, including designing programs to respond to trends. Here I explored how complex adaptive systems, urbanization, political economy, market failures, and financing affect health in low- and middle-income countries. These days, I put my technical and systems experience, as well as work across academic, non-profit, donor, and private sector organizations to use to: lead teams, mentor staff, design strategies, drive strategy execution, form partnerships, and represent our contributions in the global health arena. Health care is a human right, not a privilege. Working to achieve health for all is truly a privilege, one which I do not take lightly. What a journey to have embarked upon!
