The Role

The First Nations Lead will report to the Head of People & Culture and will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies relating to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander engagement and providing advice and guidance on reconciliation and cultural safety for DT Global in the Asia Pacific region.

This role is respectfully designated as an identified position, and it is a genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.

Duties will include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of DT Global’s Reconciliation Action Plan. Build and maintain effective ongoing relationships between DT Global and key stakeholders, ensuring communication, consultation and collaboration on relevant initiatives, programs and policies;
  • Support DT Global in establishing, building, and maintaining strong working relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and communities;
  • Create an environment of growth for understanding First Nations perspectives in DT Global Asia Pacific;
Health, Safety & Environment
  • Ensure the activities of the department complies with Health and Safety legislation and the DT Global APAC HSE Management System;
  • Consult with and assist the HSE department to establish HSE requirements within the departments processes e.g. employment, training, performance management, audits and other, to comply with HSE legislation and DT Global APAC HSE Management System;
  • Assist management and staff implement HSE requirements within the departments processes e.g. employment, training, performance management, audits and other, to comply with HSE legislation and DT Global APAC HSE Management System;
All Staff & Visitor HSE Requirements
  • Take reasonable care for your health and safety in the workplace;
  • Take reasonable care for the health and safety of others who may be affected by what you do or don’t do;
  • Other responsibilities as outlined in the DT Global APAC HSE Management System documentation;

About You:

  • Sound knowledge of, or experience with, matters relevant to the development and implementation of Reconciliation Action Plans. This may include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment, training, and retention strategies; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander procurement; and employee engagement, including cultural competency;
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and implementing workforce programs and initiatives to support the employment, development, and engagement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees;
  • High level written and oral communication skills;
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to building harmonious working relationships within the business and externally;
  • Human Resources or associated experience in a medium to large corporate organisation.
