The interns shall support the Dynamic Knowledge and Library Team in the UN Human Rights/OHCHR Global Operations Division, Methodology, Learning, Policy and Practice Section, in fulfilling its duties: to provide quality information and knowledge services and to be an effective gateway to information and knowledge in the area of human rights and, more specifically, of the work of the United Nations in the area of human rights.
The interns will support the development of the Human Rights Knowledge Gateway, where thematic knowledge sites will be hosted, contributing to research work related to the sites. In addition, the interns will contribute to the development of content and resources for the OHCHR intranet and knowledge hub.
The interns will support the organization and facilitation of knowledge sharing events led by the Dynamic Knowledge and Library Team.
Finally, the interns will help in the data science efforts of the Dynamic Knowledge and Library Team, aiming at automating tasks such as the subject classification of Library assets, tagging of websites and documents, as well as extracting and processing relevant, structured information from documents and sites.

Qualifications / Special SkillsTo qualify for the United Nations Secretariat Internship Programme, applicants must, at the time of application:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
For this internship, fluency in English is required.
Knowledge of another United Nations official language — Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish — is an asset.
