Participate in daily IT asset management tasks to ensure accurate records and tracking.
Support the laptop decommissioning process, including data cleaning, wiping, and removal of hardware components.
Prepare computers for enrollment in the Microsoft Intune platform.
Coordinate with users for the replacement and distribution of computers.
Monitor and document computer distribution and deployment using Excel tools.
Perform 2nd-level desktop troubleshooting in collaboration with Help Desk staff.
Provide technical advice and assistance to clients as required.
Prepare, maintain, and update files (electronic and paper) and internal databases related to IT assets.
Draft and update desktop configuration documentation and reports.
Perform other related duties as required in support of IT operations.
Qualifications/Special Skills
Applicants must, at the time of submission, be:
Enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent), or
Enrolled in a graduate school programme (Master’s degree or equivalent or higher), or
Have completed a relevant academic degree, preferably in computer sciences, business administration, procurement, or related fields.
Knowledge of IT asset management processes and lifecycle management.
Practical knowledge of hardware handling, data sanitization, and software installation.
Strong Excel skills for data entry, monitoring, and reporting.
Basic experience in desktop troubleshooting and customer support.
Good organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and gender-neutral environment.
Must commence the internship on the date indicated in the Acceptance Letter.
Professional work experience is not required to participate in the programme.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
Fluency in English or French is required; working knowledge of the other is an asset.
