Job Description

The Peacebuilding, Psychosocial Support (PSS) Trainer STTA, ‘the Consultant’, will support DI to conduct a training on key PSS and peacebuilding approaches. The consultant will work closely with DI’s Technical leadership to assess, plan, organize and lead training for DI field staff on peacebuilding and PSS with a focus on emergency education settings. For this short assignment, the consultant will conduct the training remotely and no travel is required. This is a remote position; the consultant may be based anywhere. DI estimates this assignment to take approximately 6 business days. Responsibilities The Peacebuilding, PSS Trainer will complete the following tasks:
  • Plan, organize and provide training to DI staff on peacebuilding, PSS and life skill approaches and theories which can be integrated into donor funded program activities at all levels
  • Ensure DI staff have adequate skills and knowledge to deliver psychosocial support interventions and activities in emergency and school settings
Deliverables
  • A detailed training outline on peacebuilding, PSS and life skills to be reviewed and approved by HO in advance of the training
  • Conduct a virtual training for DI staff guided by the approved outline
  • Provide training materials, tools and guides to DI staff which reinforce lessons learned during training;
  • Brief (1 pages) write-up/after-action report on the training
Qualifications and other requirements
  • Relevant educational background with a bachelor’s degree in health, mental health, social sciences, education, psychology or a related field; masters in relevant field strongly desired
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in the field of psychosocial support and in different contexts such as humanitarian contexts, schools, and vulnerable communities
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing PSS programs and developing peacebuilding and psychosocial support resources
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively, including the ability to advocate for and explain difficult psychosocial issues
  • Experience in providing technical support for developing PSS programming and trainings
  • Strong writer and communicator
  • Professional fluency in English required
