• 3 to 6 months, starting in November 2025

Duties and Responsibilities
The internship will support the work of the Directorate, covering a broad range of tasks, including:

• Assisting in planning and organizing meetings, briefings, roundtables, seminars, and other CTED events.
• Preparing documents and logistical arrangements for CTC/CTED meetings, briefings, and other events.
• Drafting background notes, talking points, and other materials for meetings, missions, and events attended by CTED staff.
• Conducting research and drafting or updating country profiles and other background documents for high-level meetings and events.
• Attending and taking notes at meetings, conferences, and other relevant events, and assisting in the preparation of summaries and reports of discussions.
• Supporting ad hoc activities and assignments as required.

Qualifications / Special Skills

• Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate degree programme (e.g., LLB, JD, LLM, PhD) in political science, international relations, disarmament, security, conflict resolution, or a related field.

Languages

• English and French are the working languages of the United Nations.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
• Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.

Internship Conditions

• Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations.
• Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern or their sponsoring institution.
• Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the host country may be required to obtain the appropriate visa or work authorization.
