The Cities 4 Women project (C4WP) represents a forward-looking initiative that places women’s voices, needs, and leadership at the center of urban development. By working with municipalities and development partners, the project seeks to create inclusive, safe, and accessible urban spaces that respond to the lived experiences of women and marginalized groups. The Project Management Intern will support project management capacity and contribute to advancing gender-responsive urban development.
The Project Management Intern will support project management capacity and contribute to advancing gender-responsive urban development. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the intern will assist with research, documentation, and stakeholder engagement that inform inclusive and resilient city planning.
1. Project Administration and Finance Support
Provide support in the preparation of briefs, summaries, and reports related to project administration and finance.
Support administrative and financial processes in accordance with project procedures.
Contribute to the collection, compilation, and basic analysis of financial and operational data for monitoring purposes.

Gain practical experience in drafting documentation, preparing presentations, and contributing to Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) and Health, Safety, Social, and Environmental (HSSE) reporting.

Provide administrative tasks such as meeting coordination, minute-taking, and preparation of briefing materials for partner engagements
Training components and learning elements
The internship provides opportunities to develop skills in project management, evidence-based urban planning, and financial oversight. Interns will have access to UNOPS online training tools and are encouraged to participate in learning events organized by UNOPS and other UN agencies in Kathmandu, particularly those focused on gender equality, climate change, DRR, and inclusive urban development. This experience will help build knowledge, networks, and practical skills relevant to a career in international development.
Participation in missions or training courses
In addition to accessing UNOPS online training courses and tools, the Intern is encouraged to attend and participate in learning events organized by UNOPS and other UN agencies in Kathmandu, particularly those focusing on administrative issues.
