Position: SSS and Regional Innovation Expert

Description:

PwC Turkey is looking for an SSS and Regional Innovation Expert for the EU funded project “Technical Assistance for “Capacity Enhancement for Development and Implementation of Smart Specialization Strategies in Turkey’s Regions (CEDIS3)” to be implemented in Turkey.

Key expert 2: SSS and Regional Innovation Expert

The SSS and Regional Innovation Expert (Key Expert 2) will work on a full-time basis for a minimum number of 440 working days (24 months) during the project implementation and s/he will be maintaining full-time presence in Turkey, at the duty station, during the lifespan of the project.

Brief description of the project:

The overall objective of this contract is to enhance the capacity of national and regional actors in order to formulate and implement effective smart specialisation strategies in Turkey.

The specific objective of this contract is to improve SSS development and implementation capacity at national – Ministry of Industry and Technology, particularly Directorate General for Development Agencies - and regional -Development Agencies- levels as well as to contribute to the creation of necessary networking and governance mechanisms regionally, nationally and/or internationally.

Commencement date of the project: July 2023

Requirements:

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the fields of economics/ business administration/ international relations/ social sciences/ political sciences / engineering (i.e. management /industrial/ mechanical/ chemical /computer/ electrical/electronic/ telecommunication technologies). In the absence of above-mentioned degrees, any Bachelor’s degree will be accepted together with a minimum 15 years of working experience in regional/local economic development/competitiveness initiatives or smart specialisation strategies.
  • A post- graduate degree (MSc or MBA or PhD degree) in above fields will be an asset
  • Very good command of English (speaking, reading and writing)

General professional experience

  • Minimum 10 years of general professional experience following the attainment of a Bachelor’s degree

Specific professional experience

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience following the attainment of a Bachelor’s degree in EU or internationally financed projects,
  • Experience in preparation/ implementation of at least I (one) smart specialisation strategy and/or regional innovation strategy in EU member, candidate or potential candidate countries
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in projects that cover networking/twinning/cooperation/ collaboration activities in the field of smart specialisation strategies and/or regional innovation strategies will be an asset
