Org. Setting and Reporting

  • The United Nations in Indonesia partners with the government, private sector, civil society, and youth to advance progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) serves as the central hub for UN agencies, funds, and programs in the country.
  • Led by the Resident Coordinator (RC)—the highest-ranking UN official in Indonesia—the RCO ensures that all UN efforts align with national priorities and the SDGs.
  • The RCO has five core functions:
    • Strategic planning
    • Economics
    • Partnerships and development finance
    • Data and results management and reporting
    • Communications and advocacy

Background

  • The United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) is the main strategic document guiding collaboration between the UN, the Government of Indonesia, and partners.
  • It defines shared priorities and ensures UN support complements national development goals and global commitments.
  • Two key analytical products support this work:
    • UN Country Annual Results Report
    • Horizon Scanning

Duties and Responsibilities
The Data & Analysis Intern will work closely with the Data Management Officer and Partnership Officer to support drafting, editing, data analysis, and stakeholder coordination for the UN Annual Results Report and Horizon Scanning.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the Data Management Officer to collect, validate, and analyze data from UN agencies and national sources.
  • Support the Partnership Officer in organizing stakeholder consultations, including on Disability Inclusion, and facilitate inter-agency coordination.
  • Draft and edit key documents such as Terms of Reference, concept notes, briefs, meeting minutes, and background papers.
  • Design and produce visual materials including infographics, PowerPoint presentations, and advocacy deliverables.
  • Maintain and update databases and contact lists related to results reporting, stakeholder engagement, and SDG tracking.
  • Participate in meetings and workshops with partners, contributing to event planning and logistics.

Qualifications / Special Skills
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school programme (Master’s or higher).
  • Be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a Bachelor’s degree programme (or equivalent).

Additional requirements:

  • Field of study must be closely related to the internship’s focus area.
  • Must provide official proof of enrollment or completion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Teams) is required.
  • Strong drafting and writing skills (e.g., news articles or social media posts) are desirable.
  • Ability to design surveys and polls is desirable.

Languages

  • Fluency in English and Indonesian (spoken and written) is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an advantage.
