According to the Devex job board, the total number of posted jobs in the aid sector has fallen by around 25% in 2025, compared to the same period in 2024. But how have some of the key job titles in the sector fared? Have some done better than others?
That’s definitely the case, according to a report published today, exclusively for Devex Career members.
The report shows that while most roles have seen a decline in job postings, the positions of project director and chief of party have been hit especially hard — with the total number of roles posted for these titles falling from 630 last year to 105 this year.
