I’m a project manager in volatile contexts, a widely published policy adviser, a lifelong student of political economy and ethnography, and a specialist in governance, markets, and conflict. In the last 23 years I’ve designed and managed complex projects including community driven development, climate change resilience, ex-combatant reintegration, conflict resolution, livelihoods, agriculture, frontline service delivery, and monitoring and evaluation system design/ management, for the World Bank, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the United States Agency for International Development, and the International Organization for Migration, amongst others, in countries including Afghanistan, Indonesia (Aceh, Central Sulawesi, Maluku, North Maluku, West Papua), Kosovo, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Thailand, and Timor-Leste. I’m also a Research Fellow at Chiang Mai University, where I study the long-term impact of opium eradication.
