Dr. Ghaleb Akari is an International Development Professional in Governance, Humanitarian Assistance, Project Management / Evaluation/Assessment, and Institutional Capacity Development He has more than with 20 of experience in human and institutional capacity development (HICD), performance improvement and Public Administration reform, monitoring and evaluation and learning (MEL), and business strategic planning across various sectors, industries, and post-conflict countries in the MENA region. Dr. Akari has proven success working closely with governments, NGOs, academic institutions, and private sector partners and in assessing internal and external environment; selecting programming goals and strategies; selecting entry points for interventions, setting programing options and monitoring and evaluation systems. As one of the leading authorities on governance and institutional capacity building in the Middle East, Dr. Akari has provided technical assistance, authored publications, and implemented activities on good governance, compliance, performance management and data analytics. Furthermore, Dr. Akari has attended, published and presented research at International Studies Association, Western Social Science Association, and Arab Countries Water Utilities Association. In addition to his specialty in governance, Dr. Akari is an expert on Adult Learning Theory, E- earning knowledge management principles, and international best practices. He has delivered innovative institutional initiatives, training and learning programs, workshops and organizational mobile tools that prepare staff to perform successfully in their jobs. In his most recent project with DFID in Tunisia, Mr. Akari designed and developed a cascaded national capacity building plan for 23 ministries. For the same project, Dr. Akari worked with the Tunisian Prime Minister's Training team to create a training management system to deliver training, assess ministry employees, and evaluate performance. Mr. Akari is familiar with donor-funded project policies and requirements. To- date, he has provided long term and short term technical assistance on projects funded by USAID, UN, DFID, EUD, USAID, GIZ and Kingdom of Holland. Besides as professional practitioner in political economy analysis (PEA) and the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM), and public private partnership (PPP), he holds two certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Performance Technologist (CPT). Experienced in Prince2 and EFQM methodologies.
