Jacob Mulikuza is a Sociologist and Social Worker who specializes in conflict analysis and conflict resolution in the extractive industry, research, and natural resource management. Mr. Mulikuza currently works with Pact Tanzania. Prior to this, Mr. Mulikuza worked with several NGOs for about 15 years on child protection aspects, gender-based violence, preventing violent extremism, conflict management, and resolution in the extractive sector. He has published a book on ‘Conflict around the Extractive Industry in Tanzania’ and an article on ‘Child Labour in Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining: The Case of North Mara’. Mr. Mulikuza is also a freelance writer and features writer for Tanzanian newspapers. Mr. Mulikuza holds a degree in Sociology and Anthropology from University of Dar es Salaam and a master’s degree in Social Work from Open University of Tanzania. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Social Work. More than 15 years’ experience from community projects in rural Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda, with a focus on community development, ASRH programs, Evidence Based Programs (Coaching Boys into Men-CBIM and IMpower), OVC and HIV/AIDS programs, DREAMS interventions, youth empowerment programs, gender and children programs (GBV and SVAC), grievance management, policy analysis, advocacy, media (training and couching local journalists in Tanzania on common ground reporting, preparation of media programs) research, developing programs for Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs), local content programs, Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) capacity development to CSOs, LGA and project partners and transfer of knowledge and information.
