Olena Avery

I am an IFC (International Finance Corporation) Accredited Master Trainer and LPI (Learning and Performance Institute, UK) certified Assessor for Trainer Performance and Monitoring Assessment. I have more than 22 years of experience in international development projects such as MSME development, banking and training. I worked in numeral projects funded by EBRD, USAID, TACIS, IFC and CIDA in Europe and Central Asia, including such countries as Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Italy, Bosnia and Hercegovina. Since 2011, I have been working with IFC on numerous projects for MSME support and banking development. I was involved in development of strategic programs for MSMEs which included training needs assessments, elaboration of training curriculums, designing educational materials, conducting training of trainers, coaching and assessment of trainers. By holding the Kirkpatrick Training Results Evaluation Certificate, I was able to assist training representatives in evaluating the effectiveness of their training programs and demonstrate training value to stakeholders and decision makers. I designed more than 40 trainings on a wide range of topics such as Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Business Planning, Human Resource Management, Organizational Management, and Personal Skills Development. I authored more than 20 training manuals. In Ukraine, I was one of the initiators and founders of an educational program for management of Micro Financial Institutions (Credit Unions). I became a Member of Council under the State Commission for Financial Markets Regulation in Ukraine. The Council developed and led the implementation of Advanced Training and Certification Program for Managing Credit Union staffs. I was responsible for the development of training programs and tests on Marketing and Management. I have experience in leading several projects focused on SME development programs, rural development and support of women’s entrepreneurship. I also worked as a gender specialist in IFC Ukrainian Agri Insurance Project. All my current assignments are focused on Training of Trainers programs, banking and MSME development.
