Kanaks is a Chartered Engineer with 28 years’ experience in the implementation and management of major infrastructure projects in Asia, Africa, Caribbean, Pacific Islands and Europe including UK. He is fully conversant with the management of Design, construction, and technical assistance projects utilising various contract forms including FIDIC, NEC3, JCT, ICC short and World Bank DBT and DBOMT. Kanaks has excellent knowledge and experience in Highway and Rural Road Engineering from feasibility study to Detailed Design, multi-year experiences in Construction Supervision, Project and Programme Management on major infrastructure projects, Road Management and Maintenance, Institutional Reform and Capacity building, Technical Assistance to road administration, Technical Audit, procurement, Contract and claim management, Output and Performance based Road Contract (OPRC), Labour Based Road Construction, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in Transport sector, and Climate Resilience in infrastructure projects. He has delivered number of landmark projects in international development for reputable clients including Ministries, Road and WASH Administrations, large international financing institutions and multi/bi-lateral development agencies FCDO (DFID), ADB, AfDB, World Bank, EU, EIB, JICA, DANIDA, IDB and IADB and has proven ability to develop lasting and strong relationship with key clients and government counterparts. Notable 24 years of experiences working with large international consultants and government agencies especially in transport sector, international business development and marketing. Specific areas further cover of managing highway/transport business stream, identifying correct prospects, preparation of Expression of Interest, proposal, mentoring and guiding senior and junior staff on business development, marketing, and business strategies. Further, undertaking business seminars through the British Expertise international (BEI), the International Road Federation (IRF) and business meeting with the High Commissioners and the Ambassadors. I have worked more than 18 countries and delivered landmark project in infrastructure sector Demonstrated proven leadership and people management skills under an international multi-cultural working environment and also has proven track record of project redelivery in difficult environments.
