Dr. ElGwely is a highly experienced professional with over 17 years of expertise in designing and managing development sector projects focused on rural development, water management and sustainability, agricultural management and climate change adaptation, poverty, and gender-related issues in the MENA region. He has held various positions throughout his career, including MENA Evaluator Water & Energy for Food (WE4F) project in Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, and Tunisia for the Dexis Consulting Group (USA), Agribusiness and Socioeconomic Expert for the Promotion of Rural Incomes Through Market Enhancement Project (PRIME) Project Completion & Impact Assessment Study by EcoConServ Environmental Solutions, and Agriculture Development Specialist for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and Consultant of Agricultural extension and training for the On-Farm Irrigation Development Projects in Old lands (OFIDO) funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). Dr. ElGwely's extensive professional experience in data collection and monitoring is centred around his work primarily in Egypt, and the MENA region. He has expertise in the design and implementation of evaluation studies, capacity building, needs assessment studies, and Farmer Field Schools. In terms of academic work, Dr. ElGwely holds a PhD and MSc in Agricultural Extension, as well as a BSc in Agricultural Sciences. His academic research has focused on small farmers and farmers’ organizations. Additionally, he has served as a Lecturer of agricultural extension at New Valley University and a Technical Editor at the New Valley Journal of Agricultural Science (NVJAS) .
