Summary

I have over 18 years of experience working with international agencies (UN/INGOs), the government and community organisations including development project implementation, management and independent consultancy in Vietnam. I hold Bachelors in Sociology (Vietnam) and Masters in Public Health (Netherlands). I have planned, managed and implemented several projects relating to health promotion and education, sexual and reproductive health including HIV, water and sanitation etc. for Medecins du Monde, CARE and the Centre for Quality of Life Promotion (Life Centre – Vietnamese NGO). Also, I worked as Associate Research Director for Indochina Research Limited. I have a good knowledge and skills in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, research, report writing and presentation.

I have worked as a project manager for CARE International for 4.5 years and as project officer for Médecins du Monde for 05 years and as programme manager for Life Centre in Vietnam. With CARE, I managed and implemented various projects such as sexual and reproductive health for migrant workers, water and sanitation. I was responsible for building capacity for local counterparts to carry out the project activities; planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of the project; ensuring day-to-day project activities to be smoothly and timely implemented; and reporting to donors.

I was co-founder of Life Centre and worked as a programme manager for 04 years. In this capacity, I have in-depth experience of not only project formulation, implementation of health projects, but also leadership, governance/management of an NGO, donor relations and fundraising. I had very good leadership/ supervisory skills to implement and manage the projects in an effective manner.

Through working on several health and community development projects for INGOs, I have gained a good knowledge and experience in capacity building/Civil Society Development, Community Based and Inclusive approaches. I have a very good ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with relevant counterparts at national and local levels.

I have provided consultancy services to several INGOs such as Australian Red Cross, IFRC, Save the Children, CARE, Action Aid, Clinton Foundation, Norwegian Mission Alliance, International Organisation for Migration (IOM), World Vision and so on. As part of my assignments I have carried out needs assessment, participatory research, baseline surveys, project evaluation, training on project management. Please refer to my CV attached herewith. While I am mainly work in Vietnam, I had travel experience to several Asian countries including Thailand, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, India etc.

I am a pro-active and hard working person with excellent interpersonal communication skills. I have a very good ability to work effectively in a team and I am very much familiar with international multi-cultural working environment and being able to work under pressure and difficult conditions.
