The UN Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) has five core functions: Strategic planning; Development economics; Partnerships and development finance; Data and results management and reporting; Communications and advocacy.
The Resident Coordinator (RC) is the highest-ranking UN development system representative at the country level and leads UN country teams, ensuring accountability for the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and 2030 Agenda implementation.
The internship is located in the RC Office, reporting to the Head of Office and the Economist.
Intern tasks include:
Creating digital dashboards for the evidence-based Common Country Analysis and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to support shared understanding of sustainable development trends, challenges, and opportunities.
Supporting communication and organization of RCO-led events.
Supporting knowledge management.
Contributing to monitoring and evaluation activities, including tracking key performance indicators, summarizing trends, and preparing progress updates for internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinating with team members for timely submission of information.
Supporting virtual and in-person events with data and communication inputs.
Maintaining accurate documentation of all assigned work for reference and reporting purposes.
Qualifications/Special Skills
Applicants must meet one of the following:
Enrolled in, or completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or higher).
Enrolled in, or completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
No prior professional work experience is required.
Must have knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
Must be a student in the final year of the first university degree, or enrolled/completed Master’s or Ph.D. programmes.
Languages
English and French are UN Secretariat working languages.
Fluency in English is required.
Knowledge of an additional UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an advantage.

Interns are not financially remunerated.
Costs for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern or sponsoring institution.
Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the host country may need appropriate visa and work authorization.
