Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of visual communications products such as website blogs, press releases, banners, infographics, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, and other materials, following the Office’s visual identity and brand guidelines.
  • Assist with the design, planning, and execution of social media campaigns, including monitoring and responding to comments and messages.
  • Create weekly and monthly editorial calendars for social media content and schedule posts accordingly.
  • Track social media engagement and analyze data to identify high-performing content and opportunities for optimization.
  • Produce videos and photos of UN Youth Office events.
  • Support Office meetings, event planning, outreach, announcements, and other communication coordination activities.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications/Special Skills

  • Be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Applicants are not required to have professional work experience, but field of study should be related to the type of internship.
  • Good knowledge of social media platforms and scheduling tools.
  • Proficiency in standard software applications in Microsoft Suite, especially MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud is desirable.
  • Knowledge of video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or CapCut is desirable.
  • Experience in youth engagement or youth-related processes is an asset.

Languages

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
