The Centre aims to build and strengthen the capacity of ESCAP members and associate members to leverage Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for socio-economic development.
APCICT focuses on training, knowledge sharing, and multi-stakeholder dialogue and partnerships.
The internship is UNPAID, full-time, with a minimum duration of two months and a maximum of six months. Interns work five days per week (more than 34 hours per week) under the supervision of a staff member in the assigned division or office.
Internship Tasks May Include:
Drafting and editing content for public information materials, including social media posts.
Proposing new projects for the website and social media platforms and identifying opportunities to reach a wider audience.
Assisting in improving the functionality of the website and e-learning page.
Checking the website for broken pages or pages inconsistent with the design.
Supporting the development of PHP web pages linked with databases and extracting database values into document formats (e.g., Excel spreadsheets).
Conducting research by collecting, analyzing, and presenting statistical data and other information from diverse sources.
Creating and designing reports using dashboards and data visualization tools.
Supporting the production of e-learning courses by reviewing multimedia content and materials.
Providing administrative and substantive support to meetings and conferences, including preparing background documents and presentations, and handling logistics.
Qualifications/Special Skills
Applicants must meet one of the following:
Enrolled in, or completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
Enrolled in, or completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
Graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within one year of graduation.
No professional work experience is required; a keen interest in project implementation and capacity building is an advantage.

Languages
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset.
Official UN languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish.
