Overview of The Role

The DT Global MIS (Quickbase) is used to manage large international development projects (n=25+) across Asia and the Pacific. As the Database Administrator, you will work with the DT Global Operations Team, MIS Governance Group and project teams to roll out Quickbase across DT Global’s Pacific projects.

About You

You will have knowledge of relational databases, know how to document these, administer, and add functionality as required. You will have the ability to translate stakeholder needs into actionable outcomes.

You will initially work in documenting the MIS, and as your knowledge of the system functionality, purpose and usage grows, be increasingly involved in refinements to the database, initially ad-hoc requests, through to development of additional functionality, consultations direct with stakeholders (e.g., project teams and DT Global Operations Team), and potentially training of end users.


Responsibilities

  • Document the existing MIS in accordance with agreed documentation format.
  • Make recommendations on database functionality/structure during the documentation process, including, but not limited to:
    • ‘Tidy up’ redundant fields, tables, reports (if any)
    • Suggest improvements in database structure, reports, fields, structure etc.
  • Assist with the development of identified reporting requirements, either natively, through MS Excel or Word integrations, and or other reporting tools.
  • Make improvements to the database and develop new functionality, as requested from time to time.
  • Provide database administration support to the Pacific team and manage user access.
  • Ensure database environments are managed as per best practice.
  • Respond to and resolve tickets from the Pacific team.
  • Commit to and deliver on project deliverables.

Selection Criteria

  • Currently studying (or hold) a tertiary qualification in a relevant IT discipline, or relevant industry experience.
  • At least 2 years working in a relevant IT discipline.
  • Experience of (or extensive knowledge of) relational databases.
  • Knowledge of API development.
  • Knowledge of Database Documentation requirements.
  • Personable, professional and approachable with excellent written and verbal English communication skills, an ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience and to develop and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, including those based remotely.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products including Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
