Overview of The Role

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team. This role will work closely with the DT Global Operations team, the MIS Governance Group and project teams. The DT Global MIS (Quickbase) is used to manage large international development projects across Asia and the Pacific region. The primary objective will be to roll out the Quickbase database across DT Global’s Asia-Pacific projects. An exciting opportunity to join our sector, International Development.

About You

You will manage the database system and provide technical support and operational optimisation across multiple programs. You will address support requests, trouble-shoot database errors, identify root causes and document issues. You will enjoy working as part of a team and have relevant experience in providing reliable and clear guidance to all stakeholders.

Responsibilities will include:

• Document the existing MIS in accordance with agreed documentation format.
• Make recommendations on database functionality/structure during the documentation process, including, but not limited to:
• Suggest improvements in the database structure, reports, fields, structure etc.
• Assist with the development of identified reporting requirements through MS Excel or Word integrations, and or other reporting tools.
• Make improvements to the database and develop new functionality, as requested from time to time.
• Provide database administration support to the Asia-Pacific team and manage user access.
• Ensure database environments are managed as per best practice.
• Respond to and resolve tickets from the Asia-Pacific team.
• Commit to and deliver on project deliverables.

About you

• Currently studying (or hold) a tertiary qualification in a relevant IT discipline, or relevant industry experience.
• At least 3 - 4 years working in a relevant IT discipline.
• Experience of (or extensive knowledge of) relational databases
• Knowledge of Application Program Interface (API) development
• Knowledge of Database Documentation requirements
• Ability to train and upskill team members in database management
• Proven working experience with database performance optimisation
• Personable, professional, and approachable with excellent written and verbal English communication skills, an ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience and to develop and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, including those based remotely.
• Proficiency in MS Office products including Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
