Program Background
DT Global has been engaged by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to manage the next phase of Australia’s investment in strengthening the delivery of law and justice services in Papua New Guinea for a 4-year period to 31 December 2027.
Australia-PNG Law and Justice Partnership seeks to contribute to PNG’s law and justice sector capacity to provide inclusive, safe, secure and accountable law and justice foundations for peaceful and prosperous communities, equitable economic development and private sector growth.
The program aligns with the Government of Papua New Guinea’s (GoPNG) law and justice sector goal of ‘building peaceful and prosperous communities together’. Australia-PNG Law and Justice Partnership will focus on three End of Program Outcomes (EOPOs):
EOPO 1 – Community Safety and Access to Justice at the Local Level: Communities in target locations, especially women, children, persons with disabilities, vulnerable people and those accused of sorcery, have improved access to selected justice and support services.
EOPO 2 – Law and Justice Services Supply: Responsible law and justice sector agencies increasingly provide selected inclusive, responsive, and accountable essential law and justice services in target locations.
EOPO 3 – Leadership, Coordination and Accountability: Responsible law and justice mechanisms demonstrate improved sectoral leadership and coordination of national and subnational law and justice services and improved sector integrity systems.
The Role
The Law and Justice Coordinator will support the APLJ’s activities within the PNG law and justice sector to achieve national goals and objectives as they relate to law and justice priorities in PNG.
The Law and Justice Coordinator will work within APLJ’s Law and Justice Supply team and support key PNG Law and Justice Government agencies to:
1. Provide professional project coordination and administrative support in a fast-paced and sensitive working environment to deliver APLJ’s Law and Justice Supply Projects and Annual Workplan.
2. Provide logistical support to APLJ’s Law and Justice team to work with GoPNG counterparts at the national and provincial levels.
3. Assist with procurement and manage logistics for workshops, including coordinating workshop dates, travel, venue, catering, participants, facilitators, training materials, agenda, and advertising.
4. Coordinate the development, publication and distribution of awareness and guidance materials, as needed and in line with APLJ’s Law and Justice Supply Projects and Annual Workplan.
5. Ensure that the program and all activities, deliver services on budget and demonstrate value for money through the effective, efficient and economical use of program resources.
6. Manage project workplans to ensure effective implementation and provide regular reports on progress.
7. Contribute to reporting and M&E requirements, as needed.
8. Other tasks and activities as requested by the Director, Law and Justice Supply.

About You
The preferred candidate will have:
· Qualifications: High school completion certificate or equivalent diploma is essential. Tertiary qualifications are preferred, but not essential.
· Demonstrated experience and ability to provide project coordination and administrative support with a donor funded program or similar organisation.
· Demonstrated understanding of procurement processes, and experience in delivering procurement and logistical support, promoting principles of transparency and accountability.
· Demonstrated experience and skill in the use of computer programs such as Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
This role is open to PNG-nationals only. Preference will be given to candidates residing in Port Moresby.
