Program Background

The Southeast Asia and Australia Government Partnerships program (SEAG2G) aims to deepen institutional relationships between Australia and Southeast Asia in alignment with Australia’s International Development Policy.  

SEAG2G supports Australian agencies to engage with their Southeast Asian counterparts across four thematic priorities:  

  • Climate Change and Energy Transition,  
  • Education and Skills,  
  • Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security, and  
  • Effective and Inclusive Public Institutions.  

SEAG2G is led by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT’s) Office of Southeast Asia, with DT Global as the managing contractor.  


The Role


The SEAG2G program is seeking an experienced Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) consultant for a short-term assignment to provide up to 8 days of MEL technical inputs, in particular to guide a collaborative review of the program logic.

This work will take place predominantly in November 2025, approximately one year into implementation of the program and is intended to reflect on lessons learned, validate and revise the existing logic model, and ensure alignment with DFAT expectations and evolving context.

The consultant will work closely with the program team and DFAT stakeholders to facilitate a collaborative, participatory reflection process, identify key learnings and support revisions to the program logic.

About You

You will have:

· Demonstrated understanding of international development and government to government approaches to policy and practice change.

· Demonstrated strong facilitation skills for collaborative and participatory processes, including the ability to translate complex ideas into simple language, and to clarify differing opinions and perspectives.

· Expertise in program logic development, MEL frameworks and adaptive management in international development programs; and

· Further experience and knowledge requirements listed in the Terms of Reference.
