The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Secretariat General (SG) - Shareholder Relations and Institutional Matters Department (SR&IM) - Institutional Representation Division (IRD) at its local EIB Local office in Budapest, Hungary: TRAINEE

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March 2026)

Objective of the traineeship

You would work directly with Head of Office, providing organizational support for office events, contributing to office’s newsletter and engaging in daily ad-hoc activities of the Office. The traineeships aim to enhance the EIB Group’s involvement in the country by supporting Budapest office across its activities. You would also engage with other EIBG Services and thereby enhance your own understanding of the EIBG. Such an engagement would be very beneficial also for you as it would establish a bridge between a student life and a professional career.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Support the administration of the office, organise the participation of colleagues to seminars and research conferences when suitable.
  • Support events and other initiatives organized by the Office, including inputs to briefings, presentations for conferences, monthly newsletters etc.
  • Ad hoc requests, such as setting up EIB stands at conferences/forum where and when the EIB is sponsoring the events, organising the gadget and the material to be distributed, dispose of confidential documents, liaise with the students communities, compare offers in procurement process for purchases of the offices, etc.

Academic qualifications and professional skills

  • Final year of studies or University degree preferably in Economics, Finance, Business Management, Communications or/and IT.
  • Familiarity with the local culture and economic landscape would be considered an advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (in particular Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French. Knowledge of Hungarian would be an advantage.
