The top global development employers in Indonesia

Devex rounds up the U.N. agencies and other global development employers that posted the most jobs across Indonesia in 2025.

By Emma Smith, Genevieve Gregorio // 13 March 2026
Indonesia, officially the Republic of Indonesia, is the largest archipelagic country and fourth most populous in the world, and, with a GDP of $1.4 trillion as of 2024, it boasts the largest economy in the Association of South East Asian Nations — or ASEAN. It’s also home to 22% of global nickel reserves, making it a crucial producer of the refined nickel used to produce steel and electric vehicle batteries and a potential powerhouse in the global market for clean and renewable energy. Data from Devex’s job board shows that 1,047 Indonesia-based jobs were published in 2025, a decrease of 19.59% in comparison to the 1,302 jobs posted in 2024. At the top of the list of global development organizations hiring in Indonesia in 2025 is the Asian Development Bank, which published 292 jobs to support its various projects centred on energy transition, digitalization, and climate resilience.
