Why more than 1,000 USAID employees signed a protest letter over Gaza

USAID employees have joined together in large numbers to write a letter expressing their dissatisfaction with U.S. policy on Gaza, and have called on the Biden administration to advocate publicly for a cease-fire.

    By David Ainsworth // 09 November 2023

Last week, an open letter began circulating at the U.S. Agency for International Development, calling on the Biden administration to support an immediate cease-fire in Gaza.

The letter criticizes Israel for numerous violations of international law, and says that USAID itself has little ability to provide humanitarian support while “indiscriminate bombing and violence” remains ongoing.
