Last week, an open letter began circulating at the U.S. Agency for International Development, calling on the Biden administration to support an immediate cease-fire in Gaza.
The letter follows a month of conflict that began with the deaths of 1,400 people in Israel at the hands of a Hamas attack, and has since seen more than 10,000 people killed in Gaza by Israeli bombing.
The letter criticizes Israel for numerous violations of international law, and says that USAID itself has little ability to provide humanitarian support while “indiscriminate bombing and violence” remains ongoing.
