Dr. Norbert Rakiro

A Public Health Specialist and physician holding an MPH, with 18 years’ experience in program and project management, Health Systems Strengthening, technical advisory roles to national and sub-national governments, and clinical service delivery in MNCH, HIV, TB, SRH and emergency programs support e.g. Polio campaigns. I bring experience with donor funded programs, and have in-country experience at the community, local facility, district, county, national and regional levels in Africa. This includes liaison with partners, and conducting of Program Reviews and Program Capacity Assessments for the Global Fund and Gavi in Kenya and Rwanda (government and civil society umbrella organisations), Somalia, Eritrea and Zambia. Major strengths are in provision of strategic leadership, oversight of and working with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, strong understanding of health realities in sub-Saharan Africa, and building personal and professional relationships. I also bring existing relationships with public, private and development players in the sector, academic institutions, regulatory bodies and other stakeholders, as well the ability to travel and represent at national and international levels.
