
Penias Chabwela has 15 years experience in Private Sector Development through his work in the Private Sector companies and organizations, Civil Society and the Government of Zambia. He actively participated in reducing the cost of doing business in Zambia when he co-facilitated Business Licensing Reforms of the Government of Zambia under the direct supervision and support of the likes of Kayula Siame (PS - Ministry of Commerce), Roland Msiska (Secretary to Cabinet) and the office of the Vice President of Zambia. He is well known for his work with small scale farmers and SMEs in all facets of his work since 2003. This includes the promotion of the Alternative Market for SMEs on the Lusaka Securities Exchange, development of the MSME Policy with the ZDA team, a detailed Tourism Market Study for increasing Zambia’s share in tourism on the continent and the efforts to bring Regulatory Impact Analysis systems to life. He is one of few PSD specialists who boast of cross cutting and multi sectoral skills and expertise in business development services delivery and facilitation, and partnership development. He has dedicated his life to addressing information asymmetries in SME development and making it easier for mutually beneficial business transactions to take place.
