About the Opportunity

DT Global is seeking expressions of interest from Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Specialists for an upcoming Education Project in Solomon Islands.

The project will involve project management services within the Project Management Unit (PMU) in implementing education projects in Solomon Islands involving school buildings and facilities. The project will achieve the outcomes of (i) improved quality of learning in senior secondary education (ii) quality and climate and disaster resilience of secondary school facilities and learning equipment enhanced and (iii) strengthened secondary school management.

About the Role

The Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the climate and disaster risk resilience objectives of the project and promote capacity development in climate change and disaster risk resilience.

About you

To be considered for this role, you will have the following to satisfy the criteria:

  • Advanced degree in climate change, disaster risk reduction, or related field
  • 10 years of experience in climate change, disaster reduction, environmental sustainability, or green building practices
  • 8 years of experience in supporting climate and disaster resilience and climate adaptation measures within development projects
  • Previous work experience on ADB-financed or development funded projects will be highly desired.
  • Experience in the Pacific region preferred.
