Tetra Tech, ES Inc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech dedicated to international development, is recruiting for a Solar Project Manager for the design, installation, and maintenance of sustainable solar solutions in health facilities in Accra, Ghana. This position is contingent upon an awarded contract.

Job Summary: The Solar Project Manager is responsible for coordinating solar projects by preparing, planning, scheduling, directing, and managing installation teams to complete multiple concurrent solar projects in health facilities in Ghana. Includes commissioning, warranty, inspections and providing project close out documents. Project Manager is 100% responsible to ensure customer satisfaction and successfully complete the installation of solar systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with the home office the overall implementation of project activities.
  • Provide technical leadership and supervision of staff and consultants.
  • Prepare or supervise energy assessments of health facilities, provide input for designing and deploying solar and/or hybrid renewable energy systems.
  • Manage project costs and budget for each installation.
  • Schedule and facilitate final inspections, commissioning and project closeout.
  • Generate, update, and maintain project schedules and review weekly.
  • Work in conjunction with engineering teams, designers, subcontractors, installation crew & electricians, and health facilities staff.
  • Manage remote monitoring systems overseeing the technical performance of solar systems.
  • Conduct site surveys, construction meetings, client meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with local building and electrical codes.
  • Develop long term sustainability plans for decentralized renewable energy systems in resource constrained settings.
  • Develop and lead training sessions on maintenance and sustainable operation of solar systems at health facilities.
  • Prepare work plans, progress reports, financial reports, logistics, and other documents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, construction management; or equivalent in combination of education and or experience in solar installations and construction management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in solar installations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
  • Experience working and managing projects in Ghana.
  • Understanding and knowledge of electrical and building codes.
  • Highly organized and skillful at working on and prioritizing multiple activities simultaneously.
