I have extensive expertise and experience in development planning and management with expertise in all aspects of programme management with a focus on results based management and monitoring and evaluation that has been acquired in a career spanning 3 decades working in development programme design and management. I have over the years developed technical expertise in quality assurance through effective application of M&E systems and tools. I have worked with UN Agencies, bi-laterals and NGOs internally, & externally in a wide range of themes and technical roles. My experience has been mainly in developing country contexts ranging from conflict/humanitarian through post conflict recovery to LDC/Middle Income transitioning countries, including 9 countries in the Horn of Africa (Somalia FOR 8 years with the UN System (mainly UNDP) and later with TradeMark East Africa (Results Director) and FCDO (Deputy Team Leader), and East and Southern Africa as well as the Eastern Caribbean States. Over the years I have built up expertise as a researcher, evaluator & international level policy advisor in the areas of humanitarian response, private sector development & trade policy, Education & Public Health/HIV&AIDS. My main niche is leading expert teams in identifying lessons learned from programmes in a complex environment and providing decision makers with quickly actionable recommendations to enhance the effectiveness and impact of aid.
