Private Sector Development Specialist with over 13 years’ experience in designing, implementing, advising and evaluating private sector development programmes. As an Advisor for the business innovation facility (BIF) and a Portfolio Manager for the Kenya Market Assistance Programme (K-MAP) supported businesses in multiple sectors to improve supply chains and export capabilities through advisory services, training and capital raising. Evaluated a wide of programmes in trade, agriculture, economic integration, infrastructure, enabling business environment, SME development and financial services gaining a deep understanding of the specific sectors. Develop monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks including value for money frameworks for a number of programmes most recently as an advisor for the economic development portfolio for the Somalia Stability Fund. Deep political, economic and development understanding Eastern and Horn of Africa regions gained through many assignment undertaken in the different countries. Expert knowledge on Private Sector Development, VfM and MEAL frameworks, policy analysis and OECD/DAC Evaluation criteria and DCED Standard. Experience in integrating review recommendations into future programming and well versed with mixed method research and evaluation methodologies adopted by World Bank, DFID, USAID, DANIDA, FMO, SDC as well as other funders and donors.
