The internship is in the Social Media Section, Communications Campaigns Service, Campaigns and Country Operations Division of the Department of Global Communications.
The section handles social media activities of the Department and integration of platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Within delegated authority, the public information intern may:
Research, compile, draft, and edit basic information for social media content, often under tight deadlines.
Monitor and analyze statistics related to social media content.
Gather social media content at special events (film screenings, concerts, exhibits, etc.).
Assist in the creation of original content for social media platforms.
Attend meetings as an observer.
Manage meeting agendas and draft meeting notes.
Assist with special projects as assigned.

Familiarity with and/or interest in digital photography is desirable.
Familiarity with Canva, Trello, PowerPoint, and/or Adobe Photoshop (or similar graphic design programmes) is desirable.
Interns must provide all necessary hardware (computer), software, and internet connection.
Qualifications/Special Skills
Applicants must:
Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (Master’s or equivalent) or
Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (Bachelor’s or equivalent).
A field of study closely related to the type of internship applied for is required.
Familiarity with software programmes Canva, Trello, PowerPoint, and/or Adobe Photoshop (or similar) is desirable.
Familiarity with and/or interest in taking digital photographs is desirable.
Languages
Fluency in English is required.
Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) or Portuguese, Kiswahili, or Hindi is desirable.

Costs for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or sponsoring institutions.
